It was Peach Pie’s job to make bread today (in the bread machine.

She used her library book instead and made this challah bread. It’s not going to last long.

I was especially impressed because she tried the recipe, and the first bread didn’t turn out. Instead of giving up, she immediately started a new batch! She was determined to get it right!

Happy 12th Birthday Pumpkin Pie

5 Jul

When our girls turn twelve, they can choose to get their ears pierced for their birthday. When I was 14, I got my ears pierced. I was so excited and I loved it. (And it hurt!)

But when first Cherry Pie and then Pumpkin Pie chose it, all of a sudden it seems barbaric to me. My precious daughter is getting holes punched in her body 😬

Baby Shower Gift

20 Jun

So cute!  I enjoyed making it so much.

Secret Sewing tip:

**never think you will save time by not pinning the fabric.  You will not save time, you will sew the onesie to itself and have to unpick.

Secret Sewing Tip:

If you try to unpick thin double knit onesies, you will just make holes.  The fabric is ruined and you must start over with a new onsie.  So avoid having to unpick.

Haha

I got the idea and shoe pattern here:

And the onsie tutorial here:

Summer Work

15 Jun

We are working on the outside of the house this summer.  Some things (like the stucco and flowers) we have known all along that we needed and wanted to do and some (like the paint color) took awhile for us to realize what it needed to be.  For maximum drama impact,  I wanted to wait to post pictures until it’s all done.  But it’s so beautiful, I can’t help myself.  So here’s a little taste of what the DH has been up to on weekends.

Doesn’t it look like somewhere you would  like to go for vacation?  It does to me!
