Camped at the Cheyenne KOA on the way west.

Stayed with the Man of the House’s sister in Salt Lake City

We visited Uncle Martin in Springville and listened to some wonderful family stories, which I wished I had recorded.

After that we met the Hansen family at Timpanogus. That gets its own post because.
After Timp, the man of the house went back to Salt Lake City and flew home to Missouri for his guard drill.
I had to drive the van pulling the trailer after that, but my dad patiently taught me how to back the trailer in the Aspen Grove parking lot. I was stressed going down the Sundance canyon road, but did it with no accident, and I was pretty calm about it after that.
My immediate family headed up to Weber Canyon, where my mother’s family has a little green cabin and spent two and a half days playing in the river and swinging in hammocks and playing games.

Making boats to race on the Weber river. Ingredients: pine cones, willow branches, pine gum, leaves, ingenuity

Listening to the sound of the River +Smelling the pines + Watching the light shift in the leaves of the quaking aspens + Feeling the cool mountain breeze = rest for the body and soul.

After the Weber, I drove home with Blueberry Pie as my helper. We camped again at the Cheyenne KOA. We had some trouble through Wyoming- the a/c would go out as we climbed the long mountains. But we made it home all right.
