Oct 15: Learning how to identify sassafrass trees this week meant that we HAD to dig up some roots and make homemade root beer.

Oct 20: Art in the style of Diego Rivera.

Oct 22: the Man of the House is finally done making it a he yellow of my dreams.

Oct 23: Key Lime Pie is baptized

Oct 24: At the YMCA for homeschool PE

This Halloween cat at the Y is so exciting! (And a little scary if you get too close.)

Oct 25: My kids were listening to the B52’s while doing chores yesterday.

Cherry Pie: do you suppose that when they say “they laid down the law in Mesopotamia” that they are talking about Hammurabi’s Code?

Pumpkin Pie: probably

Oct 26: A successful experiment with inertia and Newtons First Law today. (Catch the quarter on your elbow)

Oct 27: โ€œParent Teacher Conferencesโ€

Since public school is having parent teacher conferences today, I am conferencing with myself. The girls have the “day off” from school. I’m organizing and tweaking our school schedule/curriculum to meet needs I’ve noticed.

Translation:
The girls can do anything they want as long as they keep the babies happy and don’t fight. They have been warned that fighting will result in extra chores/banishment outside.

I’m in full happy nerd mode locked in my room with my spreadsheets and book lists and educational theories.

Oct 29: Trunk-or-Treat

Pumpkin Pie made her own costume

Peach Pie made her own costume also. It featured a small door in the front to put the candy into.

Blueberry Pieโ€™s part of this costume (the ponytail) has been a year in the making. I made the tunic today.
