I played 6 games of Settlers of Catan and 3 games of Monopoly in the last 2 days and lost every time. Anybody need an ego boost?
just call and you can beat me too.
After that, I was weeding my sister Mary’s garden. It was my penance for loosing all the games Sunday and Monday.
(Not really. Mary said she couldn’t do any more fun things with me until she got her garden weeded and I felt sorry for her pregnant self and offered to weed it with her.
“It will only take an hour if we work together,” I said.
That was before I saw the garden. It took us two hours, even with 3 adults and 8 kids helping.
In the Proclamation on the Family, it says:
“Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities.”
If you asked my dad what the definition of “wholesome recreational activities” is, he would tell you they are “fun work.”
I would say they are games we play (inside or outside) and family adventures we go on.
Either definition you go by, we had wholesome recreational activities by the gallons this week.
